The Georgia Unarmed Security Guard Training Course (24 Hours) is a state-mandated program established by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies to prepare individuals for professional roles in private security. The course provides a comprehensive foundation in legal, ethical, and operational responsibilities required for licensure. Over 24 hours of classroom instruction, students learn essential topics including the role and authority of private security, Georgia laws under Title 43-38, Board Rules 509, misdemeanors and felonies, arrest procedures, use of force guidelines, liability awareness, patrol and observation techniques, incident response, report writing, ethics and professionalism, and first aid overview. Emphasis is placed on understanding probable cause, effective communication, public relations, and cooperation with law enforcement. Upon completion, participants demonstrate the knowledge, professionalism, and preparedness necessary to perform their duties safely, legally, and effectively within the state of Georgia.
